As the SOULFOOD label develops, we are finding that each new CD has been given much attention to detail in striving for the highest quality music. Sky Spirit is no exception, and has that special SOULFOOD magic very much in place. Frank “Anakwad” Montano is the artist who has been adding Native Flute passages to Breathe and WingMakers, and, on his own here, he is really given a chance to soar and shine. Anakwad is an Ojibwe singer and flute player, and he sings sacred chants accompanied by his evocative Native flutes, with added nature sounds and the ambient realms of SOULFOOD. Lengthy tracks explore the themes of Earth lodge, Sky Spirit, Grandmother Moon, Thunder Song, Grandfather Sun and Rain on this enhanced CD.
