Enrique Toussaint is a self taugh bassist from Mexico City who has played professionally for over 32 years. He has toured thorughout the world, performed at the White House and Ford Theater, and played with such musical greats as Quincy Jones, Herb Alpert, Paul Anka, Placido Domingo, Phil Perry and as part of Mexico’s premier Jazz quintet Sacbe. While touring with Paul Anka, Enrique performed with the Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Baltimore and Philedelphia symphonies as well as the LA Philharmonic. In addition to being a gifted bassist, he has composed numerous jingles, scored two PBS specials on Texas and can be heard on several films included The Personals. To date, he has performed on over 89 albums and is the recipient of a MN State Arts Board grant for writing. When not touring, Enrique lives in St. Paul, MN and records with many local artists including Billy McLaughlin, Estaire Godinez, Stokely Williams and Peter Schimke, all who have also performed with SOULFOOD..
