Pedro Cortes is a third generation Spanish gypsy who began his musical studies with his father and esteemed Flamenco guitarist Sabicas. Since beginning his career at 17, Pedro has gained international recognitions through his work at the Teatro Albeniz, Madrid, Spain, the St. Louis Opera, the New York Grand Opera, the Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis, and Alborada Latina, the Chamber Ensemble for Latin American Music. Currently, he is a composer/guitarist with Orange Flamenco Dance Theater and directs his own Flamenco Fusion group.
